Needle Felted Snowmen

Having a little play session with my 6 year old, showing her how to make snowman tree decorations!

I'm teaching a needle felting workshop in November at Quilting Antics in Settle,  North Yorkshire & we shall be making little tree decorations like these (these are a bit rushed as we didnt have much time). The class is fully booked so it should be a great day!

Needle Felted Bradley Wiggins Figure

Good morning all!

I just want to share with you my latest creation. A needle Felted Bradley Wiggins, complete with handmade bike.

This was a commissioned piece for a cycling enthusiast & I'm pleased to say he's now in his new home.

He is needle felted over a wire armature.  I made his bike using wire & wet felted the black wool over it as best I could, then needle felted the details on.

He's approximately 22 cm tall.

He was quite challenging, as he's not the sort of thing I usually make.  But he was a lot of fun to do & I really enjoyed bringing him to life.

Needle Felted Winter King/Father Christmas Figure

Here is my latest creation, a needle Felted Winter King/Father Christmas inspired figure.
He is needle felted over a wire armature & stands approx 30cm tall!
I was going to make a more traditional Red Father Christmas, but then I had this gorgeous Icy blue that arrived with my wool delivery & I really wanted to try it out on something.

I recently bought a light box to help me to take better pictures of my work & so far I had only used a white background, but as his colours are so pale, I decided he would look better using a blue background. I think it shows him off rather well!

He is made using Norwegian C1 wool. I'm very pleased with him & he is now available to purchase via my Etsy Shop. Click Here to see the listing

Introducing my Forest Folk Collection!

Hello!!

It's been so long since I posted, I hardly know where to begin. I think, rather than try to post everything that I've made these last 9 months, I think I'll just pick up right where I am now.
I've had such an amazing year in terms of needle felting & I feel that I have progressed a lot even in these last few months.
I've been concentrating on faces just lately, as these were something that I always used to shy away from (because I could never get them right). But then I found an amazing tutorial on YouTube (By the wonderful Sarafina Fiber Arts) on how to properly construct faces when needle felting & suddenly it all made sense.

So I've been making 'People' or 'Forest Folk' to be more exact!

Here are some of my latest creations.....

This is a needle felted Witch. She is needle felted over a wire armature & has a wet felted hat. She carries a real wooden staff.

This next one is a Wizard, Forest Man, Gandalf type creation. Again, he is needle felted over a wire armature with a removable wet felted hat, decorated with curly locks.

Lastly, I have made a Troll/Ogre. He is my largest ever creation, standing at 30cm tall! He is needle felted over wire armature & his robes are made from a mixture of wet and needle felted fibers.

You can find these, along with my other creations over in my Etsy SHop
